Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport is one among the two international airports in North Macedonia, the other being Skopje international airport at the nation’s capital. The airport is 14 km from the city center and will cost not more than 8€.
Currently, many countries need a minimum of one COVID test report (Rapid antigen test, or an RT-PCR test) from the passengers on arrival. The Ohrid airport only offers the Rapid Antigen test.

- Appointment type: No prior booking needed, just show yourself at the airport directly
- Cost: 25 Euro (€) or 1500 Macedonian denar (MKD)
- Test result: 15 – 20 minutes

Testing facility
The official website asks passengers to arrive 4 hours before the departure time, but this isn’t necessary. The testing facility is just outside the main entrance. Since the airport is very small and operates fewer flights per day, the waiting time for the COVID test is not more than 20 minutes.
Tip: Everyone speaks English, so don’t worry.

Nasal swab test counter
- The healthcare staff collects your samples through nasal swab
- Wait for 15 minutes to get the results. You get it is a hard copy.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR TESTING
The airport is one of the smallest I have ever been to and looked old too. There is an ATM machine inside. Check-in is pretty fast followed by an empty baggage check. There are only two departure gates.
For passengers entering Germany, don’t forget to fill the einreiseanmeldung form online and print it. It’s basically a self-declaration form showing the list of countries you traveled to in the past 10 days.
