All you need to know about the Angkor Pass

Did you know that Siem Reap in Cambodia has more than 70 major temples apart from the Angkor Wat?

Additionally, many minor temples are scattered in and around the city. Most of them date back to the 12th century.

Apart from the main temple Angkor Wat, Siem Reap has many temples nearby like the Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei, Ta Prohm, and the list goes on. This entire region is termed as Angkor Park.

The Angkor pass covers all the temple entrances in the entire Angkor park region.

These passes are available for 1 (37$), 3 (62$), or 7 (72$) days. The passes are sold only at the official ticket counter.

  • Can’t purchase passes in advance.
  • Free entry for Cambodians and children below 12 years; no discount for student, groups.
  • Not necessary to use the pass on two consecutive days.

We purchased a 3-day pass for 62 US $ on my trip to Siem Reap because we decided to see as many temples as possible in 3 days.

Official ticket counter

Pro-Tip: If you are visiting only the main temple – Angkor Wat, then I recommend buying a 1-day pass. Buy it after 5 pm. It is also valid the next day too.

Please read the list of rules. This pass is your entry ticket at every site. At each site, get down from tuk-tuk/taxi, show pass, and walk-in; as simple as that.

I felt that this whole concept of one single pass worked great. The ticket controller at the entrance greets you and checks your pass.

Note: Any fraudulent activity with the pass, it leads to the police arrest. Penalties range from 100 – 300 $.
